Top Men in Digital was created in 2018 to recognize men doing great work to for personal, industry and community growth. The inaugural 25 top men in digital announcement was done on 23rd November 2018 in Nairobi. The recognition created need to create capacity for men to grow, intensify impact and create a pipeline of men in Digital.

Munyi is a fintech expert with over 15 years’ experience in the IT space in Africa, 11 of which have been in the digital payments space, operating across 11 markets in Africa and engaging over 16 markets. He is currently the Country Manager at Tala a financial technology company with a lending app that instantly underwrites and delivers credit to customers who have little or no formal borrowing history. Tala has disbursed over $1B to more than 4 million customers across East Africa, the Philippines.

Martin is the co-founder and CEO at Mdundo a leading music service app where people stream and download music. Mdundo has grown in the last few years to become one of Africa’s leading music services primarily from Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Ghana and Nigeria. The company works with musicians across Africa and has signed a licensing deal with Warner Music Group. Mdundo is also engagement in online performance marketing that delivers high return on investment.

Max is a Creative Director who has worked at different agencies Leading integrated efforts to coming up with digital first campaigns which are both award-winning and effective to the client business. He previously worked at Ogilvy as the Group Creative Director spearheading new business pitch presentations, creative directions and leading multi-cultural creative teams. He has also worked at Koko Networks, Brand2D and MB96 where he focused on growing tech startups around the globe.

Mike is an innovative executive with over 9 years of proven visionary leadership and execution experience. He is a Co-founder at Wowzi a globally leading technology company that enable SMEs, multinationals, creative agencies, research companies, and NGOs to connect to a diverse community of African creators. The Wowzi platform helps brands unleash the power of creator marketing for social advertising. Before co-founding Wowzi, he worked at Anza Strategy Ltd as a strategy partner coordinating a diverse team of consultants across Europe, Asia and the Middle East on export opportunities in the East African market. He also worked at McKinsey & Company, Palladium Group and Uber.

Juan was recently appointed the CEO Jumia Kenya where he started working in 2015 as Chief Financial Officer. In 2017, he became part of the founding team of JumiaPay, as Chief Operating Officer overseeing the expansion and deployment of JumiaPay across Jumia countries. In 2019, he was named Senior Vice President of Consumer Financial Services leading the JumiaPay App, which is now available in eight countries, as well as other FinTech initiatives. Prior to Jumia, Juan worked at PWC and KPMG in transaction services, where he was a director in New York providing financial due diligence services and M&A advisory for private equity funds and corporations.

At Bolt food, Edgar is tasked with the responsibility of operationalizing and growing the food delivery unit that was set up recently. He has ten years of leadership experience with an innovative approach to developing strategic partnerships and problem-solving from an international perspective. Before joining Bolt Food, Edgar worked as chief of staff at investment and advisory firm, Halkin Group based in Kenya and London for four years and also worked as Vice- President strategy at SUPPER in London for three years. He also worked at Antler as Entrepreneur in residence where he co-founded a telematics insurance startup selected for pre-seed funding of $100,000.
